Well, no -- nothing is ever exactly the same. But pretty darn close? Well, if it happened once, in an infinite universe, there should be a good chance of it happening again somewhere. I think it's possible there's someplace we humans could survive on.

I think there absolutely has to be another planet like earth somewhere out there. I mean if all the "ingredients" that were used to make the Earth, there should very well be the same stuff elsewhere in the universe shouldn't there?

Not "EXACTLY" like Earth. Even identical twins don't grow up exactly the same. There are however, millions and millions of known stars similar to our medium sized Sun which very likely have Planets in orbit around them similar to our Earth.

I think that's a possibility considering a water covered planet where life either migrated to the ocean from land or took refuge in ocean environment. It's hard to imagine intelligent life that starts in the ocean and stays there. Energy takes the path of least resistance, hence land would be ideal unless it was extremely harsh.

that is an interesting question to ponder. attempts have been made to calculate the probability. my own experience of course is very limited but I am inclined to say no, I think everything in this universe is unique and nothing is exactly like anything else. it's all snowflakes, my friend.
but I'm just a puny human so what do I know.

Yes there are millions of Earth like planets out there. Astronomers have already begun to search for them. Check out this website:

Exactly like Earth...no possible way! But able to sustain life like Earth, I think it more than possible, I think it probable.

If the universe is infinite, there are an infinite number of Earth copies... and an infinite number of copies of you and I.
Something just does NOT feel right about that though...
