I'm not one of those fan girls who thinks that everything she touches turns to gold. I can see why some people might not like Evanescence because it can be kind of commercial, but it really isn't that bad. I just feel like people write it off just because it's not cool to like them or something like that, particularly music snobs. I can't see why people just can't be open to the music.

I saw her live. She was incredible.
She has the most amazing voice.
She has an emorse amount of talent.

I can't understand people dissing Amy Lee and Evanescence. Amy has a beautiful voice, very controlled and with a great range. I don't always like all their songs but the ones that they make hits are really awesome. Right now I love "Lithium". Not everybody has the same taste so there is no way everyone will like their music. I'm just glad they finally came out with their 2nd album.

There are a lot of things about people that you will never understand. I personally like Evanescence and Amy Lee has one of the most amazing voices to ever be recorded. No matter what anyone says. Just because they are goth-rock, a lot of people do not like them, but those same people are the ones that are making crappy bands like Green Day, Panic! At the Disco, My Chemical Romance, and Fall Out Boy (A.K.A. sellouts) rich.

maybe because they are one of the FEW mainstream goth/rock bands. i've been a fan since the year before Fallen came out. and i'm like you, i'm not absolutely obsessed with them... but still.
they earned the spot where they are now. they paid their dues [unlike some bands out there *cough* P!ATD *cough*].
and the thing that made me want to reply to this... the guy above me says that they broke up. fyi: they didn't.

They had bad experiences in Arkansas. Maybe they work for Wal-Mart or got stung by Whitewater/the Clintons?

they are ok. amy lee is hot. the only thing i didnt like was their cover w/ korns johnathan davis. that was an awful duet. a good duet is megadeth and christina scabbia (who is even hotter) of lacuna coil doing set me free. but evenessance and amy lee arent bad i think.

in my opinion,
in music, there are no "sellouts".
Someone define sellout please? and ill tell you its called success!
Do people sit in their basements practicing, dreaming of one day being a successful musician? So that they can play the same dive bars for the rest of their lives!!?
I applaud "sellout" bands, cause they are making their dream come true, and when millions buy their albums and people wait in line for hours to shell out their hard earned coin to watch them play! ain't no one gonna tell me that's sold!

i think people are just hating on them because they are not one of those bands who screams and yells every thing they are saying.and if you just listen to there songs they have real meaning to them.

you know i think they are dissed koz they take their life as hell, and they think they are goth... you know... i believe none are goth...just life sadlymistaken....
what can i say is that... music is an expression of ourselves... but the way they write music makes it too exagerated koz... if life were like a goth.. then we would be as hell...
music is a method of appreciating life... not to hate it...
well thats why i think much people hate them... koz i think, many think in my way...
