Which route would you choose and why? CJ/Pol. Science, Legal Studies/Paralegal, PSY?????

I am at a point where I must decide ...finally.... what I will be majoring in.

I will go to law school once I obtain my BA/BS, although I am majoring in PSY, I want to be sure that I don't miss out on a possibly more applicable/beneficial major. I hate to switch but if there is any time to do so it's now.
I know that ultimately I am the only one who can make this decision; however, I am asking for opinions, feedback, alternatives...... answers:)

**Applicable to criminal prosecution

Yes, you are right. I know what you are going through . This is a make or break decision that you have to resolve and you just need some ideas to guide you in making the right decision.

If you will be a political science major, it will be beneficial for you since most of the subjects in law school including constitutional law and the like are closely related to political science so it will be easier for you because you got a good foundation already for these major subjects.

I am a freshman law school student and I can see that my classmates who are got a degree for political science is doing so much better than others especially in terms of understanding the lecture of the professors with regards to political system , constitution, etc., but being an Accountancy major also made it more easier to understand corporate law and I think this helped me get through and pass the major subjects.

All in all, I guess it still depends on the student´s perseverance and interest .One´s major can only help equip him with the fundamentals but it will not be the reason to limit him more knowledge that awaits in law school.

I wish you all the best ^^

If you are on the road of a legal carrer, keep going.. don't settle for a paralegal... go to law school. 3 of my friends have degrees as paralegals and none of them can find a jog (everybody wants 3-5 years of experience) You really need a masters to do anytrhing serious with psychology. If you had to go that route get the masters... Science is definitely "out there" compared to the others, if you have a passion for it go for it. Hope this helps!!

I am currently in law school and I was a paralegal student. While it benefitted me with garnering familiarity with legal concepts, I would advise you to choose the undergrad major that best suits your own interests rather than "prepping" you for law school. Reason being... while I had a slight learning curve in the initial semester, most every student becomes accustomed to the system and adjusts rather quickly because of the utter inundation with legal conepts and cases and the highly intellectual and competive nature of law students. Therefore, I would suggest you to choose the undergrad major you're most comfortable in because the drop out rate for law students is particularly high in the first year and the last thing you want to do is "burn out." Good luck!

Hope that helps.

According to the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC), you could major in almost anything and get admitted to law school. I recommend going with a major you will enjoy and do well in so you will get a great GPA. I would recommend going with your current college major of Psychology. I will include some links which should help.

the decision is irrelevant. resistance is futile, you will be assimilated. if you resist, you will be destroyed.

however, legal studies would offer you more applicable jobs with high income later in life. it is the most logical decision. also, you are quite cute.

life as you know it has ended. resistance is futile. you will comply or be destroyed.
