Sounds like you might have a big baby. If you're concerned about delievery of a big baby, maybe you should consult your dr about delievering early or doing a c-section. However, just because you're physically small, doesn't mean that you can't sucessfully deliever a large baby. It all depends on the inside, really. Discuss it with your dr!!
Good luck and congrats.

You know what i wouldnt worry. Midwives (some)are next to useless! With my first daughter (she 3 now) at 25 weeks she was 28cm, then when i went for a 29week check baby was 29cm then a 32 week check and baby was 26cm. I was reffered to the hospital and the midwife there told me the baby couldnt possibly shrink and that most of the measurements done were actually wrong and because of this i nearly lost my daughter. My little girl stopped growing at 29 weeks but somehoe the measurements were all over the place as midwives kept oversizing me when the baby actually wasnt that big. A scan at 36 weeks the midwife said the baby should have never been left that long not growing and i was induced right away and the cord literally came away from her as she was being born. She was healthy but i was told if she had been left any longer she would have died. I know your story is slightly different but the point is the same, dont trust measurements unless they are done by ultrasound where it is accurate and not an estimate. Good luck but im sure it will be fine and you will find the baby isnt as big as predicted but the scan will reveal all.

I am almost 34 weeks also and my baby is also measuring 36 weeks. This happened with my last pregnancy and when I had him he was 9 lbs., 7 oz. My doctor is doing an ultrasound in another 2 weeks to try to determine his size. It is possible the baby could slow down a bit but don't worry - it won't affect the health of the baby - your doctor may just recommend a c-section if the baby is estimated to be over 9 lbs. when you are around 38-39 weeks. I had to have one for this reason last time :(

Sometimes babies measure larger in the uterus. Don't worry. Measuring is only a way to give the doctors a better idea of where you really are in your pregnancy, it is not an exact science. My sister has measured an average of 2 weeks ahead on all 4 of her pregnancies and the babies were all under 8 lbs.

I had that happen with my first baby, but she evened out before she was born and I was measuring normally again. She's 13 now and has been a spurty grower all of her life. I've always thought that she was just having an in-utero growth spurt! But remember, just because you are a small person does not mean that you will have difficulty giving birth to a larger baby. It's more about the shape of your pelvis in relationship to the baby's head and shoulders!
Good luck and try not to worry!

Two things: The only truly accurate measuring is done at 16 weeks. After that a baby grows at their own rate...some bigger, some smaller.
Also, doctors can try to predict a baby's size but they are not often all that accurate. You'll know when the baby is born. That's about it.

They thought all three of my kids would be 9+ pounds, because they "measured" large... But, they measure the skull and guess the actual weight based on the skull measurement. My kids were totally normal in size... 7-8 pounds. They just had good-sized heads... I like to think it was for their good-sized brains!!

Also, your baby may have just had a growth spurt! :) My baby is also measuring 2-3 weeks ahead... (i'm 36 weeks right now) , but i'm also 6 feet tall...so i think she'll just be big.
Ultrasounds can also be off +/- 1.5 pounds.
:)

Your baby might be a little big, but it's nothing to worry about. Your doctor will monitor the situation.
