Depends. What do you like to do on vacation?
Be Active? Go Jell out on a beach? Learn something new? Sight-see interesting places? Or a mix of things? Do the Tourist grind?
Then, decide if you want to stay in the U.S. or go outside the states.
Going outside the states, I recommend GREECE; and
Any of the "Grand Tour" places in Europe. Prices in Europe are exceedingly HIGH right now, so you better have a DEEP wallet to cover your costs.
Staying in the States?
Beaches - anywhere in Florida.
Active? Try whitewater rafting on the GA/SC border at the Ocoee River. Adventurous? Parks? Can't beat Yellowstone, but it tends to be crowded, requires some advance planning. Hiking? Try Zion Nat'l Park, Bryce Canyon.
The US Parks system cannot be beat for variety of sight-seeing and combination of activities at a reasonable price. Tours, horseback riding, camping, hiking...tons of stuff to do and see.
I've visited 35 states and 20+ National parks/monuments, been overseas several times.

Pensacola, Florida!
Be sure to visit Fort Pickens and the Pensacola Museum of Art. There's also the Blue Angels and an amazing Naval museum. The beaches are absolutely gorgeous. There's great fishing and beautiful white sand.

Simla- Kullu - Manali or Simla - Kalpa (Kinnar Kailas ingredient) in Himachal. well i spent a good penny on my tat, so some of my vacation fund is .....well...gone. lol BUT i'm up for a nice day at the beach, we'll have to eat hot dog weiners, kosher of course! nothing but the best!!!
