I was wondering how many different "generations" of power ranger have there been from the first to the newst one

There are thirteen seasons, the first three were for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and then each season after that had a special theme.

Power Rangers Operation Overdrive is the 15th series. Since 1993 they are the following:
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (3 Seasons)
Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers
Power Rangers Zeo
Power Rangers Turbo
Power Rangers In Space
Power Rangers Lost Galaxy
Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
