God let me in on who I was going to marry but it was more like thriough a series of events and then a certain feeling I had when I was around that person followed up with certain behaviors. On our second date we prayed together revealing that God was going to be the center of our relationship.
So along with God revealing things to you there should be actions that back up what you are hearing. If those actions aren't there then I would reconsider the what you are hearing.
If God wants you to be with this person --you will be and your relationship will be based around faith.

I am a believer and have been all my life. I have had two girlfriends tell me that God told them I would be their husbands. One even started dreaming about our marriage. I married neither. Here is my point...people who are spiritual (hearing from God, in this example) are also very sensitive people. Even experiencing God in our devotion time can become very emotional for us. My girlfriends were convinced, and I began to be. Until I prayed. The bible say, He who finds a wife, finds a good thing. Implied here is that the message is not exclusively, but also given to the man and HE pursues the wife.
God answered my prayer by leading me to my future, now current wife of 5+ years. I know you want to do God's will. Let Him call your husband to your side. When God brings your husband, He also brings your husband's heart to you forever. Marriage is too serious and stressful to be in it with someone who doesn't have the comfort of God with him in the marriage.

yes, my husband . we had lived together many years before getting married. I wasn't planing on marrying him or any other man. he came into religion and wanted to get married, I had doubts but still I did. because in a dream I believe God sent me a sign. Now there are many times since the marriage I question the dream. I tend to think perhaps I misunderstood. But no I remember the dream, in the dream he told me this was the one for me. That he would be the husband I wish him to be. This hasn't happened yet. But still because I believe the dream a sign from God, or one of his angels I try to do my best not to give up on the marriage.

I'm an agnostic, that means I believe in God, but not in religions, and I lean for science.
You have to be careful with those revelation from God.
Remember, the brain is a very very very powerful tool God gave us, that's why it doesn't work at 100%. Maybe what you see is what you want unconsciously.
remember those revelations Biologist call it altered states, Psychologists call it super-sentience, and Christians call it answered prayers. Sometimes divine revelation simply means adjusting your brain to hear what your heart already knows.

I was told by God (well actually by profits) who I was suppose to marry, but I wont do it because I am in love with someone else and I don't have the same feelings for my supposedly husband, although he believes it with all his heart and he wont let me go.

Andrea Yates *swore* God told her to drown her 5 children, one at a time.
That other broad *swore* God spoke to her and told her to strap her two kids in the car and drown them (She of course, bailed out as it hit the water as I am sure the Lord directed her).
God told Jimmy Swaggart to bang a bunch of hookers.
God told that Colorado preacher to hire a gay prostitute for 10 years straight. God tells priests to a*ss-rape little boys.
my point is people constantly *INVENT* the "voice of God".
did you ask God if you should pee when you felt like it this morning? NO. when you put your hand on a hot stove, do ask God when to take it off? NO. when you're having sex and are about to orgasm, do you stop and ask if God wants you to pop one off? NO.
why do you think God wants to run the events of your life? he doesn't. he wants YOU to run the events of your life. stop "fleecing the Lord" (look it up) and start making your own decisions.

Make sure it's the voice of God telling you to do this sometimes we wont to do something so bad we think and feel it God telling us to do it. God is not the author of confusion. When he tells us to do something we are content with no questions about it. GOOD LUCK AND BE BLESSED.

If God truly gave you the answer you shouldn't have to question it and if you are you need to make sure God said it and not the devil. Because the devil's playground is people's minds. Fast about it then see, okay Boo!

Did God *really* tell you that? Or is it just that you want to believe that he told you that?
