I bought a new laptop, TOSHIBA satellite A100. Whenever I boot, I always have to press and hold the F12 key. What should I do so that when I boot I won't have to press and hold the F12 key again? Thanks for the help.

When I don't press and hold the F12 key, it won't boot to Windows. It's running, but the screen only shows the TOSHIBA logo.

The C:/ drive is listed as the first device in the boot menu. My problem is I still have to press and hold F12 everytime I turn on my laptop. It just won't open automatically.

What happens, or what kind of error do you get, if you do NOT hold the F12 key?

The one experience I had with a problem like this on a toshiba turned out to be the c:\ drive was not the first device in the boot order setup in the bios. F12 is suppose to give you a screen that is for selection of what system to boot. Since your not getting that screen, I suspect your boot order is the problem.
Sorry, I don't know how to access the bios on that model. It was the F1 key on the one I worked on.
Hope that helps, good luck.
