Do you think it is unfair to say the president of the United States should be a native-born citizen?
I love this Idea...
He'd be clearly more impressive than Hillary...
Sorry for my english, I'm French.

You're not giving a good image of your people... usually Americans are nice and friendly... But you're so antiFrench here... It's sad!

It should be changed. Not for Schwarzenegger or anyone in particular, but it IS a very outdated requirement that dates back to the founding of the country to ensure that the president was "American enough."
Those days have passed, it is silly to require this.
Suppose someone is born in Australia, for example. His or her parents leave for the united states the very next day and eventually become U.S. citizens. This baby goes on to live every day of his or her life in the U.S. but he can never, EVER be president. How is that fair?
The way I see it, we already have the arbitrary age of 35 set as a requirement for president. Why not instead of being U.S. born, require having lived here and been a U.S. citizen for 35 years instead? If being 35 years old is enough to know how to run the United States, I think having lived here 35 years and being a citizen that long is enough to make someone "American enough."
Alright, 40.
45.
50?
Whatever.

The Dems, ACLU, ultra-liberal Supreme Court justices, etc. have been trying to change the meaning, add to, or misinterpret the U. S. Constitution for the past 40 years! The Constitution has served us, the U.S., very well for over 200 years; why should we change it so that a pro-Abortion, pro-illegal immigrant, foreign-born person could server as president? If you want to do that, you 'll have to convince enough people to do something called the Constitutional Amendment procedure!

If you love this idea you obviously dont live in the US. that is the last thing this country needs is another puppet to be dangled on strings in front of us. what we really need isnt a woman or a movie star to run the country but an honest hardworking person with more than 2 brain cells to rub togeather. and this person is not going to come out of the choice of candidates we have to choose from at this point. sadly the person whomever it is that would actualy do the most good will never see office or even become a candidate.because elections in this country have turned into a 3 ring circus watch the lions while they set up for the elephants..little advice to you worry about your own country and qualifications of your own leaders

he's no longer eligible. The U.S. shape demands that the President be an American-born citizen. Arnie replaced into born in Austria. The California shape does not have this requirement, so because it rather is the reason could be elected Governor.

I don't want the government to spend time debating an amendment to the Constitution for ONE individual. Sorry, I like that he has learned his lesson to work with people with different opinions and solutions (revolutionary in today's climate!!!) and acclimate accordingly... but I don't think that we should amend the Constitution for him just because America, or the GOP, is lacking leadership.
He would be as impressive as Hillary though... and MAYBE more.

It's you opinion, and I respect that but........LMAO!!!!
But I do think it is unfair for you to have to be born in the U.S, that is established for many reasons, some people think it's because they don't want the government to get corrupted (I think it's already corrupted personally) so by not letting any 'foreigners' in problem's solved right?
NO! That is a biased belief but many people do believe that and if you listen VERY closely to speeches from people like George W. Bush and Rumsfeld you here very quickly them expressing how 'Minorities are incapable of running the country' Rumsfeld didn't quote exactly that but he was basically saying this he really said something like '......That would be like a minority running the country....' Office whatever he said.
Then the president himself called the the muslims as a whole 'Evil and cold' (Open your eyes people!) I really heard him say that, and it was right when I was in class watching a program on his speech, I was shocked, really I was that they'd show us something like that, the teacher himself was a Republican.
We didn't need '4 more years' of Bush and we don't need to even START 4 years of of Schwarzenegger. California's always been downhill but things have gotten MUCH worse and many people were complaining, can you see the WHOLE country going in that direction?!
(Of course it already has but there's always room for worse things to happen)
No offense to those who are republicans on here, because I know many of you realize now that putting one like Bush in office was a mistake, I'm surprised some didn't see it when 9/11 came that was like the biggest give-away ever and if not more this war has brought this country WAY down hill, for those who think this is crazy, just to let you know all of us are still going to be paying for this war long after our parents retire or possibly the day we retire!
I don't think Schwarzenegger will be any better at all! Lots of people want him in because he's famous and was a movie star, i'm not saying that you think that way but many others do, so if that amendment is changed he could be, but I think that Hillary would better qualify for that, it's not a matter of things 'they've done' it's what they've done for OTHER PEOPLE.
Not just the rich but ordinary people like you and me, U.S born or not (I wasn't born in the U.S either, I was born in Germany......yeah that's right! RIGHT next to Austria)

The Dems will allow that little change in the constitution if the GOP repeals the amendment not allowing Bill Clinton to run for another term.

You have to be joking! He has the class and poise of Porky Pig. Yes we have many others who display the same image.
Why try for more? Heck he wasn't close to being a mediocre movie Starr.

I'll tell you what, we'll ship him off to France and he can screw up your country. He is in no way qualified for the job as Governor of California, let alone President of the United States.
