Absolutely. There is no better gift you can give your new baby!

Even the smallest amounts of breatmilk can give a child so many benefits. I hope anyone who's reading this will give their child the best start in life.

I have to feed my son a small supplement of formula because my supply is hard to keep up (I work full-time, he's 6 1/2 months and always seems to be in a growth spurt), but I give him every ounce of breastmilk I can squeeze out and he still eats about 75% breastmilk.

It's also great for bonding and oh so convenient and portable. No getting up at night and having to make or warm a bottle...just snuggle him beside you in bed and stick him on! You'll fall asleep side-by-side and there's nothing sweeter than waking up to your little angel sleeping beside you!

Happy Milking!

Yes, it is the best for several reasons:

(1) It's natural. The baby is getting proteins and building an immune system from it's mother.

(2) Efficient - breast milk is the most efficient liquid on Earth. Studies show that in theory, a child can go 21 days without a bowel movement because breast milk is that efficient. Diapers should be wet.

(3) Proteins - the proteins that a child gets are easier to breakdown and more effective

(4) Longterm studies show that children who are breast-fed do better in school.

(5) Even the formula companies (Enfamil, Nestle, etc) admit that breast milk is best.

One other thing - should you breast feed or bottle feed (pump the breast milk). That is a personal choice. My wife pumped for both of our sons. Our oldest would not breast feed, but would take the bottle. Our youngest would fall asleep while eating. It would take 45-60 minutes to get him to eat, so she pumped. It was easier for her.

Yes breast is best. I have breastfed my 10 month old daughter for all her life and it has been a wonderful experience.
I have two other kids that I didn't breastfeed nearly as long and now that I have done this, I will never formula feed again (if I have more kids) The bond with a breastfed baby is amazing. Plus this is so convenient.

I say do what you can, I breastfed as long as my daughter would allow me to, which turned out to be about five months! She decided after that bottle was best. I say everyone should give it a shot. It's cheaper than formula, and it's what our breast were made for just like every other female mammal on earth!

Absolutely! For as long as possible, hopefully at least the first year!

Breastmilk is a baby's birthright. It is healthiest for both mother and baby to breastfeed. It is species specific, helping baby to grow as was intended AND provides antibodies to anything mom and baby are exposed to so that baby stays healthy!

BREASTFEED YES!!! i breastfed my daughter until 11 months, she stopped, she is so smart at 13 months she can say 39 words she has been walking since 8 months I think breastfeeding helps with everything. Plus it helps lose weight a little faster. You will enjoy the time with your little one.

It shouldn't even be a choice.
Formula should only be prescribed to those mommy's who have a REAL medical condition, and are UNABLE to breastfeed.
Breast isn't best. It is NORMAL. Why give your child something that you KNOW is going to harm them? THat is hard on their little bodies, and causes them pain and sufferings for the rest of their lives?? Why give them something that is just not made for them??
I just don't get it,
and I never will.
