I am a black woman and my friend's husband, (who is white) made the comment to me, that he's alway's been curious to see how it is, to "sleep", with a black woman. He made this comment to me, right in front of his wife. It made me very uncomfortable and I thought for sure, she would say something to him about it, but she just acted like it didn't bother her. I told her husband, if he's curious, his curiosity, wouldn't be satisfied through the like's of me. After that, I left their house because I was so upset, that she let him disrespect me like that and i'm not even sure, if i'll ever go to her house again! For some men, why is there curiosity about sex, with another race?

Well with most men i know, there's that old saying.."once you go black...." so of course for those who haven't had an interracial relation there is always going to be that curiousity, that is if they are currious to begin with....as far as if you should be offended, i'd say yes, you should be offended but not at the question alone, but at the way your "friend" didn't smack her husband for not only being disrespectful to you, but his own wife at that!!!

I understand your reaction. If I may shed some light on this that may save some heartache. Society has become multi racial. For so long the cultures did not mix. I do not believe his statement was made to offend. I am a white woman that was once married to a black man. I have heard white men express the same to me and I stuck around for the follow up discussion. What I found was more a curiosity in understanding and appreciating cultural difference. Men happen to express their curiosity in the sexual context. I find your friend's comment an indication he is open to understanding your culture. Okay he may be a horn dog, but that is not offensive to you personally. I hope this helps in some way.

Your friend's husband was being very disrespectful towards you and the woman was also very ignorant in allowing this remark. Get these people out of your life because you are nothing more than a curiosity to them. Their behavior also indicates a feeling of superiority towards you as a person, and that is definitely a major RED STOP SIGN.

No, you were not wrong for being offended!!!!!!

I have never thought of women or men any differently regardless of race. We all bleed the same red blood, have the same feelings, have the same desires, etc. I am sorry that you have faced such bigotry. It's stupid for this day and age. As far as why the curiosity, I think it relates back to the way they were raised. Don't take it to heart too much. There are many of us nowadays that don't have anything other than respect for you as a woman no different than any other. Just mark it up to stupity. Au revoir.

I think you're at no fault. Questions about sex are already a very delicate subject as is, since its a private matter. Adding race into the equation does make what he said that much worse. It was insensitive for him to make this comment, even though he might not have meant that he wanted to sleep with you he should have thought of your feelings before making this ignorant comment. She might not have shown it but she was probably angry with him. Her husband is curious what its like to sleep with others, she cant be happy about that either.

Yes you should be offended. She should have said something, and he should have never brought it up.

I have had guys tell me they want to know how it is to kiss a black girl. How are black girls in bed. It is an awkward situation. They are not directing the statement to you but you cant help but be embarrassed.

I would ask my friend whats up with her husband, and let her know that it wasn't appreciated

Your friend's husband is an ill-bred moron, and it sounds like he has found the perfect match in his wife.
You are absolutely right to break off all contact with those two Jerry Springer hopefuls.

My husband told me that once, it dont mean he is going to act on it, he just said he wanted to know if it was as different as he was told.. (GOOD THING)(bad for us white women lol).. but anyway I dont think he is tring to act on it with you.. That is why they both just kept talking, they are comfortable with you and open with you and it was nothing out of the norm, you know.. I dont think you should worry, you have a man, and pretty sure a damn good one.. so tell her how you felt and brush it off.. Good luck to you tho.. and tell him he is not getting you.. lol... be happy

Yes you are wrong. He didn't say he would like to have sex with you, just with a black women. The world is full of many people all different races and skin colors, and you only live onece. Im sorry for you. Do you come from america, the race problem is very ****** up in america.
We are all humans when it comes down to it.

His comment didn't necessarily mean he wanted to sleep with you. It was an innappropriate comment, but you may have over-reacted a little by leaving. His wife may be used to him making outrageous comments and she's learned to just ignore them.
