I am close to some Italians.... so--
good cooks (some of them are, not all); tempers (quite a bit of them, LOL); devoted to family (most of them)

They are all passionate about good food, they know how to cook it and know how to eat it. (hence, all of the Italian restaurants) They have very close knit families. They all are related to someone who is "connected". They have gaudy taste in furnishings. How about those stereotypes?

Other stereotypes portray Italians as overly-emotional, melodramatic, low-class, superstitious, aggressive, obsessed with food, and prone to crime and vengeance over trivial slights.
