I was out for three years....I spent 3 years drinking and smoking cigarettes, just abusing my body, and also put on 30lbs most of it fat....yet in only 4 months, I'm probally in the best shape of my life...Ive been eating healthy, taking vitamins, playing basketball (plus other cardio) and weight training......I'm sure If I was able to do it, Almost anybody can do it!

Its neva too late, I played back in 5th grade and sat out one year of sports all together then played Football but didn't play basketball until this year (8th grade) with the exception of pickup games and messin around. Anyway back to the inspiration....Im the leading scorer, rebounder, and blocker and im playin with all the 1st team players so they're good too. Now im also 6'3" so it helps a lil but its neva too late to play. no matter how bad u think it is during the first week (hell week) dont give up just play. as long as u want it in ur heart u can do anything. oh and if u do try out and dont make it get in the gym right after they make the cut and start practicing and getting ready for the next year so u can make em wish they had u. so good luck and try out. if u dont u will wish u had.

Depends on what level we're talking about here, man. If you're talking about walking on at Duke then I'm sorry but you're screwed!

If you just want back into the game, then dude you go for it. I used to be in tremendous shape. 6'6", big frame, could dunk, etc. (there, I hope Miami reads that cos now I done said it).

It's been about 8 years since then, but I still play now and then. I'm not trying to make any teams, of course. But if you get out there and get to work getting your endurance back up you should be able to hack it!

Good luck to ya.

If you need motivation to try out for a basketball team, then you're not going to make it.

Show up. Play hard.

Well if u had the talent before u stopped playing then i would think you can be a average player but a great ball player would have to practice practice practice but yea

Don't waste your time dude. If you wanted to play you would do it. Quit whining and get on the court.
