Decreasing as you leave Colorado and heading to Mississippi but watch for Southerners which are increasing every mile in the same direction.

Denver Colorado is the mile high city, Mississippi is at sea level on the gulf of Mexico....Seems to me like that is about a 5,280 foot Decrease....Nuf Said

According to this site, Colorado's average elevation is 6800 feet. http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/garden/07220.html
And according to this site, Mississippi's average elevation is 300 feet. http://www.netstate.com/states/geography/ms_geography.htm
Common sense says that Colorado has the Rocky Mountains and Mississippi is a coastal state.
