There have been changes in the linage of Monarchys, otherwise I would go for the Summer Palace or Forbidden City in China. Would you settle for a 1400 year old family business?

Late in sixth century Japan, Shigemitsu Kongō, a carpenter who had travelled from the Korean kingdom of Paekche, started work on the ****ennoji Temple for the recently adopted religion of Buddism. He gave his work a thousand year guarante and his company which became Kongō Gumi Co., Ltd. delivered on that guarantee until a year ago. The original Temple still stands though like granfather's axe it had a few new handles and heads over the years.

Kongō's family business thrived to become the oldest family business in the world, continuously building and maintaining Buddist Temples, until a downturn in temple revenues forced its acquisition about a year ago. It was bought out by the Takamatsu Corporation, a civil engineering outfit whose boast is that should Godzilla take another stroll through Tokyo they'll be up to the challengs of rebuilding before the dust settles. I believe that Kongō continues its work.

When Masakazu Kongō, the 40th Kongō to lead the company, was asked about reasons for its longevity he put it down to flexibility.

There's an estate in England. The family had owned it since the early middle ages. Rumor has ot that a boy in the middle ages stole the deeds from a pie he was supposed to take to the king. I think their last name starts with an H.

Assuming we're only talking buildings, and not counting government buildings of countries subject to occupation or revolution, I'd bet it'd be a Catholic church someplace in France or Northern Spain.

I'd definitely go with an answer like that, some house that has been with monarchies. That answer sounds most logical to me.
