I think its focus on peace and education, violence in the U.S., and international peace efforts is fantastic!

It is a great idea but with the military we have in this country it won't stand a chance to get off the ground. It seems that they think the threat of violence is the only way to keep "enemies" at bay. I would like to see most people have experience in foreign countries so they can find out that people are much the same the world over.....have the same wants, needs and aspirations. It is the governments that are so warlike.

I believe it would be totally grown up to find nonviolent solutions to the problems of domestic and international conflict. Don't we as the adults raise our children not to hit, but to use words to solve differences? As adults I think we should be setting the example we speak about. Great minds will find great solutions! Go U.S. Department of Peace!

Any effort that focuses attention on ways to achieve peace is a step in the right direction. Think how uch we could accomplish if we would pool resources and work together!

Oh my god! Just what we need, the federal government getting bigger. Hey, I have a suggestion for you. Why don't you guys meet down at Bill's All Nite Diner and have your monthly meetings there? I'm sure it will be just as effective. Maybe you could light some candles too.

It's just semantics, that's all.

Remember, the name of the "U.S. War Department" was changed to "The Department of Defense" - and the difference is?

Hippy Bullsh*t. Why would you need a department for something passive? Peace is the lack of conflict or action. Not being active takes no bureuacracy or management. Am I surprised that socialists would want to take more of my money to waste on big government garbage? No, but I still see it for what it is and stock another hundred rounds of ammo in my safe for the impending firefight.

It will never work unless they can prove that peace can line the pockets of the blood thirsty defense contractors who have bought and paid for politicians.

I would send monthly membership dues in order for us to find reasons for peace, as much as we find reasons for war.

It's a really great idea.

Of course, Republicans will HATE the idea, since they are AGAINST PEACE.

It's called the State Department. The last thing we need is another government agency sucking up funds that could be used in far better ways.

VETOED!
Not under this Administration.

International peace means:
Slump in weapon sales
Drop in oil price.
