when the fans come on, they draw volts from the alternator, which should be putting out 14.5. If your alternator is going out, the car can not run all the accessories and function properly...I suggest you have alternator draw test done...

The huge and sudden electrical load on the alternator is transmitted to your engine via the accessory belt.

are you talking about the radiator cooling fan or the air conditioner pump? just curious

Your fan may be going out, pulling too much amperage.
