Last night I was feeding my baby yogurt and he chiked on it. He choked pretty badly, it was scary. Well, the next day(today) It happened as he was eating baby cereal, not quite as badly though. Then I went to the store only to come back to a shaken up husband. Tobie had choke badly while I was gone. He almost called 911 but got it under control. I am worried to feed him now for fear that their is something wrong with his throat. Any advice, please!??

Uh, what are you waiting for? Take your kid to the doc, hello?! Better safe than sorry.

You should have him checked out by a doctor. Something could be wrong. Bring some food along, and baby's spoon and cup; show and tell the doctor what has been happening.

Are you feeding the baby while he sits up? Because this is safer than if he is reclining, even a little.
Also, make sure the food is not too thick and the spoon is very small, and feed only a little bit on the end of the spoon.
Let the baby swallow, and then feed a bit of milk from a sippy cup to help baby to clear the rest of the food out of his mouth. Do this little by little till baby shows he's had enough. Also, the baby may not like the taste or texture of the food, and that could cause him to choke on it, too. Take care.

Ask his doctor but I know my son was doing that. He even chocked allot when he started to drink from a sippy cup. I know it's scary when it happens but they are learning to eat and drink out of cups so that will happen allot. If you are really worried go in for a check up to make sure everything is ok.

My son is now 1 and still chocks on food sometimes but at 8 months it was allot even with mushy food.

My sons tonsils were fine and still are.

Is the cereal to thick? try making it thinner. I would definitely take the baby to the Dr tomorrow morning and have him checked you don't want eating to become a bad experience for him.best of luck

my friends baby had a similar problem cos his tonsils were swollen so there was very little room for food to go down. it could be the problem with your baby if it has happened three times. i know it is scary so get him checked by a doctor, i am sure he is fine, poor thing! good luck

Take him in for sure. Maybe something is swollen in there, or a smaller piece lodged that makes him choke on odd things.

the cereal and yogurt may be thick. I would thin it out. I would get him check by his Dr just in case and in the meantime stick with his breastmilk or formula
