If one of my friends is wearing something really hideous, then I tell them they look great. That way I'll be the one getting all the compliments and not them..haha

No, if that is what they like I will respect it as they respect my clothes/haircut. If they are my freinds, it means that I like them regardless of their hairstyles or clothes. However, if your friends ask for your opinion you can give it; but don't randomly attack their styles.
I would say something like that (bad clothes/haircut) to someone I don't care much about.

Yes. If I cannot tell them the truth then I am not their friend. If they cannot tell me the truth then they are not mine.

I'd tell them with the quickness. Just like they tell me. It makes for a more efficient friendship.

Yeah, me and my bestfriend are harshley truthful to one another. We are practically like sisters though.

Yeah. I would not let my friends walking around looking busted. If I am a "friend" then I would.. I would be no friend if I let them walk around not looking their best.
