I've been told by many people that I need to grow up or I need to have the interest of people my age, and I need to be gross {putting it politely} to be a guy. I need to be this, and to be that. here a questions. why is any of that not me. why do I have to be like 99.9 percent of people.

nobody says these things on purpose but society thinks down upon you if your not like people your age sex and color.

whats up with that.

Almost everyone has expectations of others. It's a rare person who doesn't. Just stick to your guns and live life your way, as long as you can be proud of yourself.

You know what... people always think they're helping when they stick their two cents in... But the truth of the matter is... You need to be "you". Forget what people tell you... forget what society says~ Assimilation is for the common-folk. You want to be great? you want to be a "someone"? Then stop listening to what others tell you, because look at them. Take only the advice of people you admire, trust, and love. They are the ones who know you--maybe a little better than you know yourself. I don't mean to offend you, but is it a possiblity you might be "gay"? I only bring this up because you made reference to "...to be a guy". I'm not gay myself, but I think people have the right to make their own choices... no matter what i think about it. If this is not the case, sorry... You sound very young to me... I don't want you to think that I'm telling you to go out there and REBEL REBEL REBEL, but you will need to find out who you are... before you can be told what to do.

Parents do the best they can with what they know. They love you and want you to 'fit in' because in their minds,it will be easier on you. You know you are not like the rest of the crowd, and one day they will appreciate that about you. Hang in there and just know they love you.

PS I assume its your parents you are talking about.
