Sometimes I just sit there and wish I had fuller batteries. Other times it takes me a couple of minutes to figure out that the batteries ran dead.

Steal the batteries from a remote control in the house and replace those batteries with my dead ones.

Experience, comes in handy here! Always, always have spare batteries... and.... you need to buy a back up that plugs in... just in case someone used the "spare" batteries on some silly toy!

nothing get more batteries and put them in but if those don't work do something else like going on the computer or go on the computer

Switch them around or just go to sleep, there's no reason to stay awake if there are no batteries.
