Would you consider North Carolina as redneck as states like Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, etc?

North Carolina is not a redneck state. It's a southern state that has some country parts. Just like most other southern states. but speaking of NC in jokes. I saw a comercial on comedy central last week where Greg Geraldo said: "Did you hear about the storms in the south this year? Yeah I hear 100s of people in NC lost their mullets. Talk about a poor excuse for a joke. First the insult, and then insulting people affected by a natural disaster. Sorry about the side rant. But to answer your question: No It's the tarheel state baby! (but I hate UNC)

North Carolina is a pretty educated state. I'd say no. Really, because of business flooding the South Eastern US, probably none are really "redneck" anymore. My mom if is from Tennessee, smart lady, but there are a few pockets that still hate the Yank. But not that much anymore.

No, its not as redneck as the states you listed. Wherever you have rural areas you will find a lot of rednecks so it depends on which part of any state you go to. There are definately some racist people in NC, but its not as bad as Alabama by any means.

As Red as Tennessee and South Carolina, perhaps less than greater Georgia (but more so than Atlanta). Nothing is redder than Arkansas and Alabama.

North Carolina is like most other states My brother lives there & his wife was born there with the accent an all I think Virginia is a redneck state I lived there about 5 years in my teens They hated Blacks the KKK were active and actually killed blacks because they were black How sick! NC is cosmopolitan compared to VA.

I haven't experienced a whole lotta nc, but I've been to Asheville--the least redneck place! I love NC. rednecks or not, and hope to call that place home some day.
I'd say less redneck than the others mentioned

No, more yankees live there than up north. North Carolina
got many jobs from up north and they brought some of their
people with them , when you go there its not like the other
southern states.

I'm not an American so I have no idea, but is North Carolina the state that has all the pork producers? I think I read that somewhere. I remember men from North Carolina used to come up here to show us dumb Canadians how to cure tobacco and they sure seemed southern to me.

Yes, I'll admit to that. I live in South Carolina and used to live in Georgia. Call us rednecks that's ok, we're proud to be southern!
