Basicly since i was 9 years old ive had visions and nightmares of myself being raped. i wasnt sexually abused and dont know why it started but they have only gotten worse and worse and now theyre constantly in the back of my mind. i want it to stop...

I wonder if at sometime in your mind you have been violated and forgot about it?
The repressed memory thing is very real and very damaging. I was 28 when I discovered I was molested when I was 4. I told no one because I lacked the vocabulary to describe what happened to me and out of fear of it being my fault.
I suggest you see a therapist of sorts. There is no quick fix here on Yahoo Q&A, whether you were violated or not.

Everyone else will probably say this. But your mind may be repressing an actual event that took place and it is being manifested in your dreams. It's kind of your body's way to say something is not right. I think you should consider talking to a counselor about your dreams.

If its something that causes you fear than Id say go see a therapist. If its not and its just bothersome, every time it happens IMMEDIATELY think about something else. Something happy. Do something.. and most of all avoid movies and books and whatnot what have people getting raped or talking about it. Good luck Dear.

call one of those rape hotlines, they should be a big help. they should be able to tell you ways to protect yourself, which may make you feel a little better. or just talk to them and see wht they have to say.
