You have to either have built-in wireless on your laptop or a wireless internet card for your laptop.
Ok, so the DSL line goes into the internet spot on the wireless router. Then you have another wire going from the router into the PC.
Get on the pc and type in the ip address of the router in the address bar at the top. It'll most likely be 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.0 Then it will ask you for a username and password. The username is "admin" and the password is USUALLY blank or "password." This will let you access the router and give it a name and configure the settings.
After you get all the settings working get on the laptop. There should be a wireless internet icon next to the clock if you have this option. right click on it and select "View available networks" select the name that you created in the above step and you should be good to go.
Some laptops have a button or switch that you must press in order to turn your wireless mode on. it would be something that looks like a tower and two bars that look like: )).
Hope this helps!

ok first you have to determine if you laptop has a wireless card built in. Most new laptops now a days do have them built in. if you do not have one built in you have to buy a wireless card for your laptop. You can get one on sale at best buy for around 50 dollars. Once you got that figured out the rest is easy. You have to plug in your wireless router to an outlet. connect the phone line to the wireless router. then connect the pc to the back of the wireless router. then connect the dsl router to the back of the wireless router. once you have this configuration you go to internet explorer and type in 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.0.1 and then a login screen should pop up. the default login should be username: admin or administrator and no password. Then you should see a button saying run setup wizard and it will guide you on what settings you should use and ask you to put all the information that is required. email me if you need more help

1st, search the wireless networks in the area,
You'll see a list of available wireless networks in range.
Then select your modem from the list (If you see there something like your modem's model for ex: ZOOM, BILLION)
check whether the signal strength. The highest signal strength is problably your modem's.
If the modem is configured for security (WPA or WEP) you'll see a lock sign near the signal area or the wireless SSID (ZOOM, BILLION etc.) then you have the enter the wireless security password.
It's not needed but you can also right click the wireless icon on the system tray (right bottom of the screen) and select REPAIR from the menu, after few seconds, you can see you're connected to the Internet

If the computer has built in wireless, or a wireless card the you goto
XP
start > controll panel > network connections (might have to switch to classic view) > wireless > view avliable wireless networks > find your SSID (bottom of router) select that and then connect
If you have wireless security setup then you will have to click properties and then enter in the WEP, or WPA key
