I grew up on his music & I love his songwriting abilities.His son AJ Croce is really good too.The only thing that I can figure out that it has something to do with the record label.BTW,anyone else a fan?

there was alot of debate a few years back because of this and alot of reports were saying he was voted down because of the genre he played and there was some doubt as to his songwriting

His songs are easily recognized, still very popular on the oldies stations
I also wonder why Jethro Tull isnt in the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame either

I got a name is one of my all time favorite songs. I'm going to guess that he's considered more of a folk singer than a rock & roller.

technically hes a "folk" musician. but yes he was great and deserves more recognition
