The cresant plate is not working right. How do I get it off and what tools are needed. There is no plubmer for 150 miles.

the two answers above me have it right but when i instaled mine i had to twist it on so you may have to twist yours to get it off

Turn off or unplug the electric supply. Disconnect the piping. Should be slip nuts. Look at the top of the disposer. There should be a metal ring with ears that have holes in them running horizontal. Stick a screwdriver in one of the holes and turn it counterclockwise. If it has been installed for a while, it may take a couple taps with a hammer to loosen. Be careful when it drops. They are quite heavy.

turn the water off. Turn the power off..unless its a plug in model..Look up underneath and you should see 4 bolts holding the disposer to the underside of your countertop.Find appropriate wrench and get those loose.There should be a screw on collar to the drainportion of the machine..unscrew it...it should lift out.Thats hoe mine works anyway..hope I can help
