What is the difference between a cdrw drive and a cd-rom?

Please explain these two things to me.

CD-RW drives can actually burn a CD, whereas CD-ROM drives can only read them.

ROM stands for Read Only Memory.

CD-ROM only reads CD's ...
CD-RW reads CD's , and burn ones ..
simple different ..
