1. Stay at Mandalay Bay and take advantage of the wave pool. It has a sand beach and real waves.
2. Go to the M & M Store at the MGM.
3. Ride the Roller Coaster at New York, New York (note: it is very expensive, $10 a ride)
4. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is a cool aquarium attraction.
5. The Lance Burton Magic Show is clean and kid friendly.
6. Hiking or bike riding in Red Rock Canyon.
7. The Lied Children's Discovery Musuem.

There are movie theaters and bowling at the Orleans. For the 5 year old there is an indoor play area next tot he movie theater that is big.
Red Rock canyon is popular for all that visit it. (See the travel section of Yahoo.)
Sharks reef at Mandalay bay is great. There were many good things at the dolphin habitat also.
The Guinness museum would be great for the kids because of all the visuals.
The circus circus adventure dome is the larges indoor amusement park in the world.
Finally I recommend the Lied Discovery children's museum. 833 n las Vegas blvd.

I did a search on metacrawler.com for Las Vegas activities for kids and came up with a number of things, see link below. Also ask your travel agent.
Have fun on your trip!

Here is a list:
Leave them at HOME. This is not Disney. And no one else finds your kids adorable like you do...we are going to Vegas to get away from our kids so we don't want to see or listen to your kids. It is called the Adult Playground for a reason.

it is totally inapproriate to bring kids to las vegas. you'll get a lot of dirty looks for exposing your kids to that environment. vegas is where selfish parents take their kids.
