The first part of the impeachment process does not automatically remove someone from office, as was the case with Bill Clinton. He was found guilty on the articles of impeachment and was impeached, but was not removed from office.
If GW was impeached and removed from office, which is highly unlikely because there is not enough time left in his final term to conduct the proceedings, yes, Cheney would become President and immediately issue a full pardon.

Cheney is next in line. How scary is that? As much as I think bush is a weeny, I'm even more scared to consider what would happen if cheney became the president. Too bad we can't impeach them both at the same time.

that's the downside!! I say we impeach both of the dumb men. Bush is just cheney's puppet anyway. Nancy Pelosi would be president. At least she has the guts to go to syria!! We need a new administration before these fools ruin america!!

You can be impeached, and still be president. See Bill Clinton. I am not a fan of Bush. However, I pray every day for his safety. I shudder at the thought of Cheney in the office!

First - he can not be impeached, no crimes committed. Second if you do not know who becomes president if the current one is impeached then do some research.
