He used a very heavy pro staff Wilson, and it's true that he even put tape on it to make it very customized. Not only this, but his strings were strung very tightly for control.

Not a standard WIlson racket he had at least 5 oz of lead tape on the head during his playing days. McEnroe stated it was about a 17 oz racket. Very head heavy.
