You don't know how this stuff works, do you? The hijackers turned off the aircrafts transponders and dropped altitude, making the aircraft extremely difficult to track. Also, nobody was expecting anything like this sort of event. It was after all, unprecedented. Still, after the towers were hit the military was warned about the PA and Pentagon planes. The fundamental problem is that our air defense network was designed to counter external threats - aircraft flying at us from overseas. Not aircraft originating in our own airspace.

I do not discount you because of my, or your, politics....Unlike you, I do not parrot the catch-phrases of others...
I discount you simply because, even if you do actually believe in what you spew...you do nothing more than turn it into a game of "I am smarter than you." A true patriot fights for his country, he doesn't try to convince a bunch of people to fight on his behalf....

Your inquisitive mind came up with only several aspects of this confusing puzzle.
I spent many hours of writing on the subject to conclude that it looks more like an economic event than anything else.
The stock market was weakening in the months prior to 911, and did take a big downturn just a few weeks before.
Some unidenified people bought put options on various stocks, in particular some airlines stocks.
The identities haven't been revealed, and I don't know why.
I've just provided some more input, but the tangled web of uncertainties is mind boggling.

I think we got caught with our pants down. A little too over confident and didn't forsee anybody doing anything that crazy on a large scale. Iraq on the other hand is all lies. Blood for oil and who gets rich and who gets dead. Military contracts worth billions, all paid by the good ole tax payer. Look into how much Kuwait oil real estate those ahole Bush's own.
