As a liberal, I have absolutely no clue. I usually have an idea of why cons might behave one way, but I don't really know why they don't like to question authority or the status quo.
For those who deny they do, look at their favorite institutions:
- the church
- the military
- the nation state
- tradition
- collective morality based on one interpretation of religion
You are expected to follow authority no ifs or buts about it. If you don't, you get kicked out, court marshalled, or called a traitor.

There are a variety of types of conservatives and liberals.
I know that not all of you libs are total nut jobs. But there is a significant amount of them.
Now a true conservative does question authority. I question what my tax dollars are being used for all the time for instance because as a conservative, I believe that the government should only have the amount of our money it needs to support the basic constitutional needs of the people
And I will not argue that the current administration has grown government.
What I dont know if you understand is, that I do question some of the things you question, then i make my judgement and I put it away, but some nuts will not see logic and keep it up ad nauseaum. because you just dont have a connection with reality i guess.

Maybe they have never heard:
"Distrust of authority should be the first civic duty" - Norman Douglas
"All authority is quite degrading. It degrades those who exercise it and it degrades those over whom it is exercised." - Oscar Wilde
I don't seem to have any appropriate quotes from our Founding Fathers handy, but I'm sure there are some. Journalists claim a duty to question authority, although most of them just regurgitate the propaganda from politicians and those in authority.

conservatives, being independent by nature question all authority decisions. but most of us have jobs and a life to deal with. We just aren't heard often or as loudly. Unlike the protesting mobs parroting the agenda of their socialist professors. We simply go to the voting polls, hoping everyone isn't as insane and stupid as they sound. Most of us are what people call the silent majority. Paying taxes, and fighting wars to keep the country free, even for liberals.

I question authority all the time. That's how you make it in life. Why is it so hard for some people to see the truth?

Because the best way to hide you skeletons and crimes and real perverted thoughts is to act like you agree with all the rest of the cons doing the same thing. i.e. not question authority because that might bring attention to your true colors.

Is this a trick question? It has never been before. I have been questioning the things these silly Dems have been doing for years. Questioning authority is what keeps Rep/Con's independent free thinkers.
