Of course. That is the whole idea. They know if they talk the real issues they will lose big time. That is why the war must continue for the duration of the Bush Administration so they have a way of diverting people's minds. Somehow Dubya and company think this is a war like WWII where the whole country was mobilized, things were rationed, and factories were rolling full bore all with the purpose of winning the war. The little thing in Afghanistan and Iraq are minuscule compared to WWII. But it makes Georgie feel important.

It is telling you, America has more problems than some war. Now people will say: 'No, war is most important'. But President Bush has told everyone in the world that he will reject every war plan the Democrats give to him. So the Dems have a choice: Follow him or shut up. Why should the Dems say something they don't believe in or want, why should they eat their own word for Bush's benefit. So they shut up and because they can't do anything about it, they don't do anything.

The rubber stamp days are gone. Bush and Cheney need to be impeached. This is the only course of action for Democrats. I also see Bush will Veto and shut down Government just before the November Mid term elections... Republicans did the same with Clinton. Republicans have no problem at all with blackmail of the president. Democrats need to wake up and start the impeachment of Bush and Cheney in the house.
While the president and Republicans have criticized both House and Senate Iraq bills for including such "pork" spending as $74 million to help peanut farmers store their crops and $25 million for California spinach producers, those types of easy-to-mock items make up a tiny fraction of the $20 billion or so added by Democrats.
GOP critics have been mostly silent or supportive of add-ons such as $4 billion-plus for medical care for veterans and troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, up to $6.7 billion for more hurricane relief along the Gulf Coast and $745 million to cover shortfalls in providing health care to children of the working poor.
Bush blames Democrats for adding "billions of dollars in domestic spending that is completely unrelated to the war. ... These may be emergencies, they may be problems, but they can be addressed in the normal course of business. They don't need to be added on to a bill that's supporting our troops."
Democrats reply that Bush has routinely accepted non-war items on prior war funding bills, such as a $2 billion border fence to keep Mexicans and others from entering the country illegally.
And last year, powerful Gulf Coast Republicans such as Thad Cochran and Trent Lott of Mississippi successfully pressed for billions of dollars above Bush's prior requests for Hurricane Katrina relief.
On Thursday, the White House took the Democrats to task for focusing on items other than the war. "The Democrats ... spent the last four weeks cobbling together votes, adding $24 billion in spending for spinach and some tropical birds or fish and shrimp, things like that," said spokesman Gordon Johndroe, who was with Bush in Texas.
"The president is crying crocodile tears about the fact that the Congress has not yet passed his take-it-or-leave-it spending request for the Iraq war," said House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, D-Wis. "The president needs to stop his huffing and puffing and recognize that he is no longer dealing with a rubber stamp Congress. There must be compromise."

I'm sure Mr. Bush has more on his plate than the war. If he were to drop that ball to someone he could trust , he might be able to focus some on al the other problems that deserve the attention of a President

Reason for that is, with the elections coming up and War being one of their many weak issues they want to devert the American public away from that, because they know they have no solutions to purpose to us.. So they will pick up on some other issue that the People will be confused on.

Is that the only line you read? Read alittle further if you dare and look at the crap they are looking for. Peanut storage, more money for the inept Army Corp of Engineers, spinach....the list goes on forever. Stop complaining about the White House and focus on the Idiots in Congress.
Nice, huh??

They are trying to divert attention away from the war into other issues.
The war is the top priority for most Americans....and only 27% still support the endless war.

Well it tells me that the President has to say "I will veto any Bill that sets a timetable for withdrawal" in any form he can to get through to ALL of the Democrats in Congress and in the Senate. In about a week you will see him offer a paint by number set to help them understand that he "will veto any Bill that sets a timetable for withdrawal". I know it just burns your liberal butt to see a President who will not cut and run.
