First half very good second half I got totally lost. Did anyone else see flashing images on screen? What was the end all about??

I saw it yesteray and was very dissapointed, slow and boring then it got really silly. Yes there were creepy flashes of peoples faces everytime the flash light hit the camera. The idea of the man from the 1st ship was good but why was he all burned up? that just made it silly. The ending was all wiered with strange camera angles, this looked cool and was because time and space were getting all mixed up and stuff. I was so looking forward to this film and it let me down so so much, shame.

Yes, there was flashing images on the screen, if you looked clearly there were images of the crew of the first ship sent. I think it was done to show some of the crew members.
The ending is a bit complicated but Capa got out of the room, Mace reactivated the ship allowing Capa to release the bomb into the sun but because of this, there were also sent into the sun which is why you only saw a tiny object hurtling through the sun rather than the complete bomb.
The bomb did go off and it did reignite the sun which is why you see Capa's family looking up and the winter finally passing.
I personally thought it was a brilliant film.

Never heard of it until looking it up just now. It looks like it's gonna be really good though. But I'm in the USA and have to wait until September before it's released here in the States :-(

are you talking a/b the 70's movie starring john denver b/c if so i saw it when it first came out all i remember is that his wife got cancer and died and his wife's family wanted custody of their daughter and there was a sequel called a sunshine christmas. i loved the song sunshine by john denver it makes me cry whenever i hear the song since it was so sad.
