did you hear Oliver Postgate on the radio. he did the intro to Noggin the Nog and went through some of the voices from other programmes. He is well over 80 now - most of those shows were made in the 1960's and repeated on a constant loop.
"In the lands of the North, where the Black Rocks stand guard against the cold sea, in the dark night that is very long the Men of the Northlands sit by their great log fires and they tell a tale..."

I have a few that I look back on most fondly...Bagpuss (I now have the DVD!), The Flumps, Sesame Street (loved Bert and Ernie), The Muppet Show, Take Hart and probably a few more.
Rent-a-Ghost was pretty cool, I agree. And some of you guys have said Pipkins - I'd forgotten that...it was great!!!
When my brother was watching kids TV 10 years after me, there was brill stuff like Willo The Wisp, Henry's Cat, Knightmare and I'm embarrassed to say it but WWF wrestling in the days of Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior!

At 41 I may be in the wrong market, but when I was a kid, my three favourite programmes, in the UK were:
1. Marine Boy (Manga-style animated series, not seen in 30 years)
2. Lost in Space,
3. The Tomorrow People
Also liked Timeslip and later, Blake's Seven.

Now you're making me show (&feel) my age!!! Too many to mention - yes! All of the afore mentioned - and more!!! I also used to love Andy Pandy, The Clangers, Paddington, Hong Kong Phooey, Dastardly & Muttely, and that good ole Saturday morning TV classic! SWAP SHOP!!! Yes! NOEL in a chunky wooly jersey! What would The Banker on D or no D have to say about that I wonder? Aah, the good old days! Kids TV now is not the same as it was then sadly!!!

Yes I liked Rent-a-Ghost for all it's corny lines and gags - It was so funny at the time. However, I must say my all\ time favourite(s) was 'Joe 90' 'Grange Hill' (with Tucker Jenkins and crew) , 'Johhny Quest' 'Marine Boy' and even though it wasn't exactly Children's TV the best of the best was and still is 'Tom and Jerry' (NOT the updated versions - but the ones made way back ....)

The first few series of Grange Hill with Todd Carty as Tucker. Then I watched the spin-off called Tuckers Luck.
Favourite cartoon would have been Tom and Jerry.
Going back further it would have been Trumpton.
I also liked the Flumps on a Sunday morning, after Hap Ka Hap about 9 am.

It was the afternoon trio on channel 11 in New York. They were, The Three Stooges, Popeye, and the Little Rascals. The Three Stooges was hosted by Officer Joe Bolton, Popeye was Captian Jack McCarthey and I think the Little Rascals was by the Merry Mail Man Ray Heatherton.
