Death Cab for Cutie uses a lot of figurative language.
specifically songs such as crooked teeth, transatlanticism, and Marching Bands of Manhattan.

also, the indie band Mewithoutyou uses a lot of that type of imagery as well. (the leader of that band has his master's degree in English)
