Countless times. Sometimes the puck will have a knuckle ball effect or it will skip along the ice. Here is one I'll always remember-not quite center but it was priceless.

Goalies can get tricked from a long distance. The most common one is when a player shoots the puck down the ice along the boards. The goalie starts to go behind the net to stop the puck from going all the way around ... except the puck hits an uneven part of the boards and changes direction. The goalie doesn't have time to get back into the net, and the puck beats him there for a goal.
I'm not saying that happens a lot, but it pops up every few years.

I was watching a blooper reel from Best Damn Sports Show Period top 50 Blunders. I saw one where the Flyers were up 1-0 and there were like 10 seconds left and someone threw a desperation shot at Ron Hextall, but he was too busy celebrating his shutout that he was unaware of the puck going between his skates. The Flyers lost in OT.
Moral of the Story: Dont be Boastful, Even if an Accomplishment is Around the Corner.

I remember Ray Bourque scoring from a faceoff circle in his own end attempting to clear the puck, and the Goalie muffed it. It was against Hartford. It was on one of the early Don Cherry videos...
It also happened in a Pittsburgh/NY Islanders series a few years back, when the goalie was aimlessly skating in his own end unaware the faceoff had been dropped, and it was fired down the ice and in.

Yes there have been a few but I don't know who or when....remember seeing two a few years ago when the puck bounced as it landed in front of the goalie and went in the opposite direction he thought it would.

Sometimes the puck takes a funny bounce, or the goalie gets caught napping. I've seen it a few times.

It happened this year during a Minnisota Golden Gophers game (pretty sure it was a Gophers game, anyway). The puck came from the other end of the rink, the goalie mishandled the puck and it went in.

It's funny that you mention this now. I was just watching the Red Wing pregame show before tonights game and they showed a goal by Nicklas Lidstrom that he made from center ice in the 2002 playoffs vs. Vancouver.
Lidstrom went on to win the Conn Smyth trophy and the Wings won the cup that year.

no longer mandatory even though it incredibly is truthfully a brilliant deal and merits attractiveness. in spite of what human beings could think of, an empty internet purpose isn't as ordinary because it sounds. There are nonetheless 6 men attempting like hell to resign you from scoring. comparable with a penalty shot as long because it incredibly is in the time of regulation or further time. Shoot-out objectives do no longer count type in direction of your stats and does not count type as a hat-trick.
