Core 2 Duo uses less energy and is considerably fa$ter. And as programs are written to take advantage of them, their relative speed will increase. I've built all my computers since 1992 and I've always used AMD. But my next box will be Intel. However, AMD is cheaper and they produce good processors. If money is very tight, these are still a value. Have fun!

i agree. intel core 2 duo is much better than the amd counter part. the only reason you would want a amd is if money is tight. but i would recommend saving up a bit for the intel. it is much better. faster and more efficient
