Not to say that this is fair. Americans are unfairly demonizing Muslims because one-one thousandths of one percent of them are terrorists. This is not only unfair, it's beneath our dignity to act this way.

People, Americans, that is, still don't want to think that something like 9/11 could really happen. There was no clear target to blame, but they felt they needed to blame somebody, and get revenge, and Muslims were handy, visibly different from most other people and already somewhat unpopular, so they got the scapegoat job.

Sadly, that's often how humans work. If you hurt them, they just want revenge, and it's preferable, sometimes, to take the revenge out on someone undeserving, but convenient, then to be fair and not take revenge out on anybody.

The tiny minority of Muslims who really are terrorists make it hard on the rest of their faith by attracting attention to themselves with their extremist views, actions and statements. A lot of people can't make a distinction between a normal, everyday Muslim, and a terrorist whack-job.

Someday, the world will be fair, and on that day, we will shed our crude physical forms and inhabit a universe of light and happiness, forever. Until then, people are stupid and things mostly suck.

It is obvious that most Muslims are not terrorists. But Muslim terrorism is clearly an important movement in the world right now.
Since Muslims are a small minority in the US, most people didn't think much about Islam, good or bad. And then suddenly we find our country attacked by Muslim extremists. Have some compassion for our fears and confusion! It is important for Muslims who live in the US to help their fellow Americans in this situation. Reassure them that you are not like the bad guys.

Dehumanizing them makes it easier yo hate them and thus excuses mistreating them. Why are we so worried about 15 Brits but willing to excuse leaving 1,200 Taliban POWs out in the sun to die of suffocation in storage containers.
