He's a liberal with a predominantly liberal constituency and therefore immune to repercussions of malfeasance. Whether it be Kennedy and Chappaquiddick, William Jefferson and his frozen money, Clinton and Whitewater, Berger with the pants stuffed with classified, incriminating documents, etc, their ideology ensures their sheep voting them back in. We all see, however, the ramifications of even the slightest hint of scandal involving a Republican/conservative representative--heads must roll and resignations must flow.
