I have been married 3.5 and am planning on divorcing my hubby. I did the math and if everything gets split 50/50 house ect. i will walk away with 15 grand.Currently i am living with my hubby in texas (not my idea we moved for his job in insurance)but i have a degree in marine biology that i cant use really here.I have been working as a secretary here in texas so i have not been able to put away much money only 1200 dollars.I was offered a job by an old friend in tri-state area near where my family is working at a zoo as a seal trainer.But i am conserned i dont have enough money saved to move?

Should i just take the plunge already ?

I would do what is best for you. If taking the plunge would benefit you in the long run go for it. You said it yourself you would get more money after the divorce, so if needed maybe a family member could loan you a bit to help with expenses. Good Luck

There is nothing wrong with being practical. That said, if there are kids involved...be careful about moving too far away, the kids deserve to have relationship w/both parents.

It's good to have a plan "B", but if you're waiting until you feel "secure" financially, you'll be waiting forever. Find someone near your family to stay with and take a leap of faith.
