It would be nice if ethnic love could be traded for political favors. I would sacrifice myself for a bombless week anywhere.
Would you rent your brains for a peaceful resolution to the Middle - East crisis ? Nancy Pelosi did. Her aim is to avoid a global catastrophe.
And it is far more effective than selling arms to both sides, then pushing them into deadly conflict. Diplomacy requires planning and compassion. There is more at stake here than bullying emperors, and oily theocracies.
Likable or not, Nancy may be the little girl who stuck her dainty finger in the dike and kept the flood from drowning the whole country.
