I mean, it's like EVERYBODY likes to travel these days. They all want to experience different cultures and lord knows what. Well, call me peculiar (or in fact a raving nutter) but foreign countries are filthy, filled with insects, needlessly large forests and odd dishes and it's always way too hot or way too cold. If I want to experience the culture, I'll go to a museum.
That's not to say that I did not travel, because I did. Because I had to for work :-)
Besides, those countries where clean. Oh yeah, I am really making friends tonight...

You need a reason to be a weirdo?

I know how you feel, I hate travelling too. My wife drags me to different countries but some aren't that bad. I have been to the UK, (most of Europe) Russia, China, Japan, Mexico, Tahiti, Australia, and The Virgin Islands. MOST of those places weren't so bad except Mexico which my wife was almost robbed in the market. Then while your there you don't want to look like a tourist, so that means you have to wear the worst clothes you own and speak total Spanish. The last note about Mexico is if the Cab driver offers you to see a donkey show DON'T see it. Trust me, *shivers*

I didn't like travel when I was younger because I was forced to go to places I didn't want to go, by my parents, so perhaps the fact that you had to travel has put you off. As I got older I realised I was missing out on something by refusing to go abroad, so I now travel abroad for pleasure at least once or twice a year. It's so much easier now, with all the cheap flights & Eurostar. However, I'm now being made to feel guilty because I am apparently contributing to global warming. So, at least you can tell people you are helping the environment by staying at home.

Nothing weird about it. In fact its just the opposite of weird to only want to see and experience what you have already. What you are describing are your perceptions of other countries from where you are and if that's enough for you then why would it be weird? Yes a lot of people like to travel but not wanting to certainly doesn't make you unique or strange just habitualised or perhaps a bit scared of trying something different. Many, many people feel that way just like many people feel the opposite.

This just means that where you live is your comfortable zone. It's perfectly normal to want to stay where you are if you like where you live. But if I were you, I would travel anyway. Try to get out of your safety zone, you never know, you might have lots of fun. And not all countries are dirty. In fact, the US isn't so clean itself...
Good luck. And most importantly, have fun.

Haha thats not bad at all. Your not alone with people who dont like to. As long as you feel your experiancing every culture and your happy with yourself then you are doing great! If you really want to you can always just set a goal of one trip a year or every other year. Museums are great, its the same thing as traveling but being home at the same time.

Hope I helped :-)

No, I definitely don't think you're a weirdo. I have to say I don't understand how can you not want to travel, especially to a distant countries like Egypt, Greece.... but, at the same time, there are places I don't want to go to and if somebody was to think me a weirdo, that would annoy me to no end.
Do what you like. Don't worry about what others have to say.

you don't have to travel or even like traveling, you really are just voicing your opinion and i'm not going to say you are weird because of it. I like to travel....but only in my own country...there is so much HERE that i haven't discovered yet. when i'm done with that, then maybe i'll head out somewher else...so no, you aren't weird at all!

no, you're not weird. i don't like to travel to other countries. i only see a point in traveling if there is something crazy to do once i'm there. most people just go to shop and do things that they can do at least in their own state.
