I love studying Ancient Egypt, and drawing some of the structures in and around the West Bank of Thebes and Saqqara. These are my favorite sites:

A fascinating place. The ancient artwork is superb, both on a grand and a small scale.

The modern attractions include some great scuba diving in the Red Sea.

I highly recommend it as a vacation destination.

Ancient Egypt had a fascinating culture. Modern Egypt, which I have visited, is far, far, far less enchanting.
