I am not judging but i do not think that teenage girls should be having kids when they are kids themselves depending on their own parents for clothes, food and shelter.
I thought i was young when i had my son at age 21 but according to people here on yahoo answers it is fine and dandy to have a kid at age 16 which i will never understand.

I would say that a teenager and under is too young. A child demands a lot of time and if you're still having to go to classes from 8 to 4 then that's a lot of precious time you wouldn't be spending with your child. And by no means I think a girl should drop out to have a child. Education must come first so that you will be able to provide for your child later. It's not a question of judgement, I think it's a question about being responsible.

Too young and too old is entirely dependant on the mental maturity of the individual. While I don't think that junior high school kids should be having sex much less having babies, I don't think there is a certain age at which you're too young or too old. Keep in mind that there was a time (and certain cultures still maintain this) when a girl was an adult when she started her monthly cycle and she was usually married and having children by the time she was 14. Granted, life expectancy was only about 30-35 at that time. But that isn't what we're getting at here.

You stay the people judging are the one who had kids when they where young, Well do you ever think they are judging from experience. They know what it was like to have children at a young age, they know the hardships they went through.

everyone is different and some people are older but never grow up.but still if they say you are too young and they were young when they had their kids they know what they are talking about.it is not easy if you want a child because you are lonely or you think he will love you or stay with you cause you have his baby you are stupid! it doesnt work like that.you need to stay in school and be able to support yourself before you would ever think of having a baby.parents are supposed to support and care for kids not have kids to get a damn welfare check! no baby wants that kind of mama or that life.good luck.

I personally think if you are under the age of 18 or still in High school you are to young. That is my opinion though. I was 20 when I had my first and was married.
That is just my opinion though and if I do talk to a teen that has a kid I don't judge them because I don't know there situation.

You are "old enough" to have a child when you are ready to give up all of your personal needs for the sake of the child and when you are financially secure enough to support one. You are "old enough" when you can realize that a child is a blessing not a commodity. You are "old enough" when you are in a stable marriage and you have what you need to support a child in his/her development.
By this description, a lot of people aren't "old enough" and I'm talking about emotional maturity. Luckily for those people nobody is there telling them they can't have one. Just because you can have one, doesn't mean you should.
You're right, everyone isn't the same. It's not about age, but about maturity and a financial ability to take care of the child.

Well l think theres young and then too young so I guess it depends on how young you are talking about. If the young woman is over 18, able to take care of herself(job ,place to live, utilities, car etc) then who is to say she should not have a child. However if the young woman is younger, with no job, no place, no money then no shes too young. Of course accidents happen and most young women who would be ordinarily "too young" have done just fine so it really does depend on woman.

i think you should be over 18 preferrably as in not a minor, but that is not enough. you should also be able to take care of your child and yourself. if you're in high school, being supported by your parents or guardians then you are too young. a child is your responsibility and it should not be pushed off on anyone else. your family is there to be supportive not to take care of you and your baby. i don't think people should be judgemental but when babies have babies then it is everyone's problem.
