They each have a set number of home dates on their schedule. Since they share the Staples Center, the 'home' team is simply the one with that home date.

it depends. there are times when the Clips are home and there are times that the Lakers are home. But when they play each other, the fans usually cheer more for the Lakers. it's obvious, because when the Lakers score, they cheer but when the Clips do, only a few cheers for them, even if it's the Clippers who are home. But if against other teams, fans give support to the Clippers as well. even some celebs like Jack Nicholson cheered for the Clippers last Playoffs when the Lakers were already eliminated.

If you are talking about regular season, each team plays 41 home and 41 away. So, imagine it can be Lakers or Clippers home game depending on the schedule. For a 7-game playoff series, it depends on who has a better regular season record. It's 2-2-1-1-1 split.

The only really way you can tell is if on the Staples Center floor, it has the Lakers or the Clippers logo on the floor. By the fans, there isn't a road team.
