How is gay marriage destroying the institution & moral values of marriage, when married heterosexual couples are doing just fine already destroying the institution of marriage by a high divorce rate, committing adultery, committing incest, & murdering their spouses at alarming rates!
Stop searching for a scape goat in the gay community, just because you are repulsed by the act of same sex & you were indoctinated at a young & vulnerable age to believe gay sexuality is wrong! Start looking within & recognize not even you are perfect to all others, yet you too recieve God's Love as GOD'S WILL is GOD'S WILL and not your's! ALL GOD'S CREATURES ARE DIVINE, their very existence makes this so, therefore even Gay's are LOVED!!! So it's not up to you to judge, live & learn my friend, live & learn.

Shout out to Nick F... LOL!

ÚS moral values. That a person has the "right" to do as they choose as long as they don't interfere with anybody else's "rights".
Gay marriage hurts nobody, therefore preventing gay marriage is destroying the US moral values.

The US started life with "all men are created equal, yet had slavery and segregation, just because there is no slavery now, does not mean the US morals have been destroyed, quite the opposite and the same for gay marriage, the sooner people are allowed to be EQUAL in the US rather than treated as second class citizens, then better the US will be.
The institution of marriage means what? A man and his wife are not going to be any worse off if gay people are married.

50%, yes, fifty percent of hetrosexual marriages end in divorce, i think straight people have already destoryed the institution of marriage without gay people's help.

I do not favor gay marriage, but I also don't want Congress to pass a Gay Marriage Ban. Passing a law denying a group of Americans certain rights just seems wrong to me.

I detest their lifestyle, but they have every right to practice their lifestyle. And we should find a compromise that allows them to enjoy the same legal rights as married heterosexuals.

And Gay Marriage is not destroying the institution of marriage. Unthinking and adulterous heterosexuals are doing that all by themselves.

I myself have been married for 20 years and the time has flown by...and yet we see Hollywood celebrities who can barely stay married 6 months. They make a mockery of marriage and unfortunately influence young people far more than Gays ever will.

No and no. IMHO I don't see how any individual's sexual preference could affect my morals or ethics. It's frankly none of my business. If the institution of marriage is in trouble I believe the cause may be in the religiously enforced illusion of it's permanence. I believe married couples should make every effort to stay together through good times and bad, but as soon as one party becomes habitually abusive or dismissive of the other the option of divorce should be considered. Given the ever growing human population and current global environmental problems I think gay marriage should not only be allowed, but encouraged. It would also be a good way to curb gay sex (if you happen to oppose it, which I don't, again none of my business).

At the risk of thumbs down, I agree with you. First let me say that Homosexuals are people just like you and I. However they have chosen a sexual course that is in direct opposition to nature. Plainly put there are boy parts and girl parts. They fit together for a reason. It is how we procreate. two persons of the same gender do not have the sexual make up to fit together and create life for a reason.

Oh and Homosexual marraige and acceptance does effect other people. It gives the false impression that a homosexual lifestyle is "ok" when it really isn't.

With that said, God will be the judge, not us. He destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah because of the people's transgressions, so let him judge.

Marraige is sacred union between a mand and a woman.

No, it's republicans that are destroying the moral values of Americans.

It would be unconstitutional for Congress to ban gay marriage without removing marriage from the tax code.

genuinely, marriage is precisely a criminal company regulated by technique of the authorities in the criminal experience. merely the authorities performs or dissolves a wedding ceremony legally. authorities authorizes quite some specialist human beings - judges, mayors, deliver captains, non secular officials - to finish the wedding ceremony ceremony. notwithstanding, even if a non secular valid (priest, rabbi, minister, imman, monk, or in spite of) officiates on the wedding ceremony ceremony, he or she is genuinely also marrying on behalf of the State merely because he's likewise licensed by technique of the authorities to finish that (the reason of them declaring "by technique of the capacity vested in my by technique of the State of huge apple"). That being suggested, many faiths also comprehend some style of religiously ruled "marriage". the authorities in the united states isn't authorised to intervene and each and each and every non secular body marries whom it needs in accordance to its own guidelines. as an celebration, Catholic church homes do no longer enable divorced human beings to re-marry. Orthodox Jews do no longer let a Jew and a non-Jew to marry, etc. Unitarian Universalists and some UCC church homes marry similar sex couples now - even if the authorities in that particular area recognizes it. So, non secular marriage would properly be per criminal marriage, frequently it really is not. the top of a wedding ceremony also illustrates this factor both properly. at the same time as a courtroom approves a the top of a wedding ceremony (divorce), the marriage no longer legally exists from a criminal perspective. non secular communities would or would no longer comprehend the divorce (the top of the marriage). some protestants do, some do not. The Catholic church does no longer. Jews do, yet some require a separate technique ("get") for the divorce to be religiously valid. notwithstanding, the non secular view is inappropriate from a criminal perspective, as both all and sundry is not any longer married to one yet another in the criminal experience and are loose to marry like different singles. If we were to do no longer ignore that "criminal marriage" and "non secular marriage" are separate establishments, i imagine the the full debate round this difficulty should be a lot less infected.

A person's sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with his or her "morality". Sincere love and affection is a blessing that all human beings benefit from.
It's too bad so many people of all "persuasions" believe that marriage somehow insures lasting love.
Morality can not be legislated. The issue seems (to me) to be a ruse created by the right wing "polit-pocrites".
Let 'em marry. . . then they too can contribute to the divorce rate.

You can call it marriage or you can call it civil unions but I think it is sad that you are denied the rights of people who love each other to be together when divorce rates are very high right now. Also, who are you to deny rights like seeing a loved one in the hospital, or getting their love ones stuff after death. How is this destroying moral values? Are you saying because gay couples want to get married crime, abortion, murder are going up? Or can you attribute the decline of moral values to more violence and sexual acts in t.v., movies, and video games.

No, I don't agree with that statement. It is peoples criticism and hatred that is destroying this country. Everyone has some sort of different way they view moral values. If it doesn't effect you personally, then forget about it. They are not hurting you, you should not bother them and let them have their freedom as well. You have your rights, Gays should have theirs.
