You guys identified Cheap Trick. Both these songs are on both Greatest Hits packages that have come out.
The original studio version of "I Want You To Want Me" came out on the 1977 album In Color, though the huge hit that stormed the US was off the 1979 released concert recording "Cheap Trick Live At Budokan". This is one of the great live albums of all time.
"Surrender" is also on that live album, but the version of that song you hear on the radio is from the 1978 album Heaven Tonight.
