Are there genes that make you a good shooter, I'm not talking about a gene for muscle memory, I'm talking can u have never touched a basketball before, but your parents were great shooters, and the first time you pick it up, you can make yoour shots

yes there are according to my research... you can get genes from your parents if they had the skill and played the game before developing or giving birth to a child, they can be passed on and develop in the baby

I don't think things like that are passed down from generation to generation. It is more talent based, some have the hand eye coordination to make their shots more often than others.

well yeah talent can definitely be passed down from parents to children, through genes.. but that's just simply a part of who you are. it doesn't mean that, if they are good, you're gonna be good too. there's a lot of factors involved in which humans develop their skills, one is by just using it, another one is by improving it. environment plays a great factor in that development, and so is practice. i would recommend you not to rely just from your parents' talents, but to practice as well, and develop your own game.

i don't know if this can be passed on by parents but i know some people naturally have a shooter's touch.
