Yes. It varies depending on what brand you have.

Different variations:
- whooshing/sucking sound
- high pitch sound
- sometimes very little difference from stock air intake

Yes - your stock intake has noise dampeners in it, where the cold air intake is a metal tube that will amplify sound. There is no telling really what it will sound like until you bolt it onto the car, but you can listen to other people with a cold air intake to get a good idea.

Depends on the car. The bigger the engine the more noise it makes. But that's a good thing.A little putt putt 4 banger. Not much.
